|
The competition to hire the best available talent has never been as intensive as in todays modern market place. Even as economic downturns affect the traditional supply and demand effect in the recruitment marketplace the need for talent remains constant. As we move into an economy that is both global and knowledge based, more than ever before organisations depend on their human resources as the source of their competitive advantage.
The effective recruitment of staff at every level is now critical to success. The ability to obtain and assess historic information about a candidate, based on structured behavioral based interview techniques, lies at the heart of being able to predict future performance. At the end of the workshop, this skill, together with a range of other skills and abilities will enable the participants to be more aware and more effective in their ability to interview and select high quality employees |

Course Objectives |

To understand and apply appropriate interviewing skills and techniques
To be able to communicate effectively during an interview giving shape, purpose and direction to the process
To be able to develop appropriate questioning skills and the ability to listen and observe both verbal and non verbal responses as a means of improving interviewing techniques
To give participants the skills and knowledge to be able to conduct different types of interviews with confidence
To make course participants aware of the many difficulties involved in selection and to be aware of their own developmental needs in this area.

Ms Chan, Diana |
Diana Chan specializes in leadership and management as well as organisational development programmes for high potentials, new managers and managers transitioning to senior leadership position. She customizes individual and organizational development initiatives, facilitates off sites for new managers on team bonding and achieving top team performance.
Besides facilitating training on performance management, feedback and coaching, competency-based interviewing skills, influencing skills, presentation skills, customer service skills, managing virtual teams, diversity-related skills and mentoring initiatives, Diana provides personalised coaching on individual and team alignment. She works with global and regional key stakeholders, providing consultancy advice on learning and development, as well as organisational development interventions.
Diana has coached and facilitated training to audience of diverse ethnic and cultural background, mainly from multi-national corporations in the financial industry. She has facilitated training in Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Korea, Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo, Manila, Sydney, Melbourne, Jakarta and Switzerland as well as facilitated virtual training for Thailand and India.
Diana was the Vice President, Learning and Development, Asia Pacific, JPMorgan Chase Bank, NA. Prior to that, she was Director, Global Talent, Learning and Development, Investment Bank, UBS. Dianas other corporate experience included working in Citibank, DBS and United Overseas Bank.
A keen champion on diversity-related initiatives, Diana was instrumental in designing the development plan for the physically-challenged graduating students as part of corporate community service to help them to integrate into the corporate world post graduation.
